Great experience, lovely modern campus, everything is accessible, well organised, amazing atmosphere. The university's facilities are pretty good overall. If it helps at all, you can chat to our curent students on this course. Nottingham has a reputation for being an affordable and friendly place to live. I like the variety of seminars available, particularly the fact that some are lab based, some are interactive and allow for opinions/discussions such as in Critical Thinking seminars. I'm not saying the circumstances I've had have been typical - it really has been one unfortunate dumpster fire after the other, mostly external dumpster fires unrelated to university, too - but it's not really been helped by the course, at all. It became a polytechnic in 1970, and was granted university status in 1992. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. We do want each and every one of our students to succeed and would go out of our way to faciliate this. lots of sports and societies, The University and especially my course LLM course leader and private tutor have been great in providing support during these tough times. Literally best university choice could of picked. For some reason, our chief lecturer, Greg, didn't like male students, which was just weird - our class was mostly female but he took a solid dislike to one guy in our class, and it apparently wasn't the first time that had happened, either. There is alot of variety but I'm finding it hard to find the time for them. The university dates back to 1843 when it opened as the Nottingham Government School of Design. They all have weekly office hours, but are also very keen to meet you outside of those if you cannot make it, or will just answer your email if you do not need a face-to-face meeting. Nottingham was a wonderful environment for a year. I've not spent much time in the student's union, so can't give you my opinion on that. I've heard the same cannot be said for the Uni of Nottingham (I have a lot of friends there now, one who moved to NTU for this reason,) and would genuinely advise one to go to NTU rather than Uni of, even if one is more prestigious and wants higher grades. I studied a Business degree here for 3 years, and overall I was extremely happy with my experience. I think the university has good facilities, which include the huge library, student support services, cafe's, shop, lots of study areas and many more facilities. If you don't think you want to be in a society try lots of different ones when you get there whether its gaming, film, make-up sport, there will be something for you there are hundreds of societies. The City campus has an excellent location, but I know that students from other campuses struggle with that. A free inside look at company reviews and salaries posted anonymously by employees. I also find the building where the majority of my seminars are held really valuable as there is space for studying here, which I often use more than the library as it has a more intimate feel. It isn't a good environment if you've got sensory needs and problems. I never liked how we had to design things - endless mood boards, fabric boards, initial sketches, design options, final designs. #TrentArmy, Love it there is so much to do, so much support.
